From time to time, you may feel you’re going through the motions at work. Or you may notice you’ve made the same three dinners for months.
Even a sign as simple as the fact that you can’t spice up your emails beyond business correspondence can show that you may need to breathe fresh life into your day.
There are many ways to get out of a creative rut, and meditation can certainly become a part of your repertoire.
The next time you feel stale, take a step back, whether it be away from the stove or the laptop screen.
For a moment, observe yourself. Does this creative block feel at all like a physical block? If so, try to pinpoint where this block is. If it’s all over, imagine yourself freeing your body from its constrictions.
Take a few breaths and allow each breath to act as a creative spark.
You could try giving your creativity a colour, and imagine this colour spreading through your body.
It may not take effect immediately, allowing you to create an act of genius. However, meditation is available to us to show us that even when things don’t seem perfect, it’s a part of the process and it’s a part of who we are.
Those moments when we feel stuck can make way for great thoughts and ideas.
Until then, let yourself find calm. Creativity will be just around the corner.
