Even those inclined to winter sports have to admit: it’s been a long and hard winter. First, we chuckled at the idea of a “polar vortex.” Then it got serious. Perhaps this meditation for winter’s end will help.
As the winter weather begins to thaw and you’re reminded of what honest-to-goodness sunshine and warmer breezes look like, let’s get the winter out of our bones.
Use this meditation to venture out of your hibernation.
A Meditation for Winter’s End
Have a seat and sit up tall. Close your eyes.
After you settle into quiet, scan your body from top to toe. Really try to focus on each area and notice if any areas feel disconnected or frozen. Try to bring a sense of awareness to your entire body.
Imagine a warm light radiating from inside your heart into every nook and cranny of your body.
Feel the warmth hit every bone…
…and every muscle.
Feel it course through your bloodstream.
Let this warmth begin to thaw any frozen spaces that may have been undernourished in the winter months.
When you feel calm, relaxed and glowing, open your eyes. Goodbye, polar vortex. It was nice knowing you.
