If you’re feeling “toxed” there are many juices and cleanses on offer in health-centric Toronto. Or you can opt for your one-stop shop at The Detox Market.
This Hollywood-based shop has been cast in Hollywood North. Now-owner Bita Doagoo spoke to the founder on a trip to LA, and soon found herself with a pop-up shop. (We’re pretty sure she got the job based on her super-cool name alone.) Her pop-up store became busy enough to spin into a permanent role on King Street.
The open space inspires a deep breath upon entering, and the deep breath will help to usher in the clean smell of natural soap. The décor is simple, so as not to overwhelm, with Romanian wood that welcomes in your Zen.
All-natural and non-toxic products are the name of the game, leading to what Bita calls “raw, beautiful skin.” Most products sold are exclusive to the Detox Market for that true VIP feeling. Some of the face creams are kept in refrigerators, speaking for the freshness of the product. On top of beauty products, local Toronto jewellery, baby products and chocolate will find their way into your basket.
The Detox Market is teaming with practitioners, from RHN to NDs. You can certainly see them for an appointment after your shopping spree, or you can just pick their knowledgeable brains.
Count us in. If chocolate fits into a detox it will be much easier to prevent ourselves from getting “toxed” in the first place.
