Featured: Physio Fix: How to Treat Tight Hamstrings

Maybe it was that extra lap, the sprint to the peak, hitting spin class hard or that last, last run of the day, 'cause suddenly, you've got a tight hamstring. 
 
Pulling a hammy can sideline you for a long time. Here's a stretch that can help you avoid that by keeping it nice and loose. 
 
You don't want to mess around with your hamstring. Not only is it a major muscle but when it gets tight it can effect your entire gate, shift your pelvis and lead to back and hip pain. Ouch.
 
In this video, physiotherapist, Jean Lewis shows us how a very simple stretch can alleviate that tightness. And, she even shows us how to target the upper part of the hamstring to ensure you get a full stretch through the whole muscle. 
 
Once your hamstrings are limber, you'll regain your good posture and start walking right again. That means you can get back to crushing it on the mountain, on the bike and on the track.
