Don't let your long-weekend of indulging in weeny roasts and one-too-many cocktails get the best of you. If you emerged from a spirited holiday into this short workweek (yay!) with a grumbly belly (boo!), fret no more. You just need to go pro.
One of the highest natural sources of belly-optimizing pro-biotics is kefir. The brand I use, Liberte Organic, boasts 5 billion active bacteria cultures per tablespoon – the champagne of pro-biotic beverages. Imagine what a cup can do! Now, my belly is not a huge fan of dairy, but I don't seem to be bothered by milk kefir. In fact, I always feel really awesome after consumption.
But, if you're vegan, lactose-intolerant or simply dairy-averse you can sub in tibicos, AKA water kefir (fodder for a whole other article!), and use your favourite nut milk instead of water as per the ingredient list.
Last note: if you're brand new to kefir, half a cup will do, this stuff is pretty potent.
